This is a research study testing whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is effective in treating major depression.

Eligibility

Ages Eligible for Study: 18 Years - 85 Years
Genders Eligible for Study: Both
This study is not recruiting Healthy Volunteers.

Criteria

Inclusion Criteria:
1. Patient has a diagnosis of a major depressive disorder or bipolar disorder and is currently in a major depressive episode (without psychotic features).
2. Subject has a pretreatment HRSD score of ≥ 18
4. Subject is willing to provide informed consent.
