Paxil CR versus Wellbutrin XL for depression in patients with a past suicide attempt or current suicidal ideation

Purpose

The study provides six months free medication treatment for depression to compare the effects of two approved antidepressant drugs on suicidality. Patients are assigned to one of the drugs (50/50 chance for either). If the medication is not helpful, it will be changed. There is no placebo.
